8 more days to go!

The past 6 days have been exciting, crazy, stressful, exhausting, and fun. Though everything hasn't been perfect, when are things ever perfect on a film set, we have been able to get some great shots. Dormeshia is an amazing dancer and a great actress. Production begins

We begin principal photography on The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang, on Tuesday July 18, 2006. Shooting will take place for 14 non stop days. Our lead actress, Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards, will be filming during the days and performing on stage every night in Imagine Tap. It's going to be a lot of work for everyone involved but hopefully we will have some fun too.

Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards


Lavender House Films has cast Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards in the lead role of it's debut feature film, The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang.

Dormeshia is a world re-known tap dancer and has been featured on Broadway in the Tony Award Winning Bring In Da'Noise, Bring In Da'Funk. Other performances include the national tour of Wild Woman Blues and Debbie Allen's SAMMY (the life and times of Sammy Davis Jr.). Film credits include "TAP" with Gregory Hines, Spike Lee's "Bamboozled" (Assistant Choreographer), and "The Rodgers and Hart Story: Thou Swell, Thou Witty". Mrs. Sumbry-Edwards' choreography has been featured in TAAP:The Art & Appreciation of Percussion and was also utilized in Michael Jackson's music video "Rock Your World".

Dormeshia is currently starring in the dance musical, Imagine Tap, now playing at the Harris Theater in Chicago, IL. For more information see www.imaginetap.com
